BAPPING away

First Happy New Year to all and my you all find more time for stitching and stashing in 2012. I have been working on a BAP as 2011 came to a close. Stitched the dividing bands between the verses and almost two rows of the 0/0 verse. I had to stop because I ran out of thread. I am trying to curb the stash spending in 2012 (at least until I get some stitched) and so I think I'll order the thread online rather than drive to LNS. It is always amazing how much money I spend when I walk in the door. The other thing I find amazing is that with so much stash I still need stuff for projects. I spent some time yesterday sorting and making list of what I need to kitted pieces. It is mind numbing that I have so many fibers and still need more. I am shy about 20 silks and 35 over dye cottons. I'll be starting with what I have complete kits for rather than stashing more for the new year. There are about 15 project bags and at least half of them are BAP's. I knew I had been ignoring them for smaller faster pieces but really not that bad. We are trying to go to the lake for the day so I 'll post the 2012 project list tomorrow. Hope you all get a few stitches in today.

Thanks for stopping by and blogging with me,
Pam

  1. Love your project! I know what you mean about going into the LNS, it is just too hard to resist buying more stash when there is so much eye candy right there in front of you! Like you I am going to try to finish up current WIPs and buy no more stash in 2012 until I can get current stash completed. Oh the will power this is going to take, lol! Of course there are always the needed threads that are not in my stash to soothe the lack of retail therapy!

Wishing you a Happy and Productive New Year!

  2. Lovely project Pam! I know exactly what you mean...no matter how much stash we have there always seems to be something missing when kitting up projects. I might need to borrow your idea and do more ordering online or by phone - once I get in the LNS I always find more stuff I "need" LOL.

Have a wonderful year ahead with lots of stitching!

  4. Why is it I always come out of a stitchy shop with something I think I can't live without? I have so much to stitch already I will never get it done in this lifetime.
Your BAP is coming along nicely. I will be visiting often to see your progress.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  5. Your BAP is looking good. I know what you mean about stash, I have loads of threads but never the right ones to kit out a project.

I don't have a good LNS anywhere near me but do have a wonderful quilt shop and I can never go in without buying something I didn't know I needed.
